4 Day Amboseli Tsavo West ,East Safari Tour Itinerary
Nairobi – Tsavo East: (320km – Approximately 5 hours) Meal plan: Breakfast, lunch, dinner 6:00 AM: Your driver/guide will meet you at your hotel, residence, or Nairobi airport for the journey to Tsavo East. We’ll set off in a comfortable 4 x 4 Jeep along the Nairobi/Mombasa highway, making stops to stretch and grab some refreshments. Upon entering the park through the southern entrance, you’ll be greeted by the stunning rugged terrain, where we’ll likely spot our first wildlife. Keep an eye out for giraffes, impalas, and possibly some majestic big cats like lions or cheetahs. After a delightful lunch and a chance to freshen up, we’ll continue our adventure, searching for the park’s famous red-dusted elephants. During our afternoon game drive, you might witness a breathtaking African sunset, a perfect way to wrap up our first day on safari. Tonight, we’ll stay in Tsavo East, choosing between a cozy safari lodge or a tented camp.
SAMBURU Meal Plan:Breakfast, lunch, dinner
We’ll kick off the day with an exhilarating game drive, searching for majestic lions, elusive leopards, swift cheetahs, and any other wildlife that may grace us with their presence in the early morning light.
As we follow the winding path of the Ewaso Ngiro River, our eyes will be peeled for elephants, buffalo, and some of the more amusing creatures like dik-dik, warthogs, and olive baboons. Samburu is also renowned as one of the two regions where conservationist Joy Adams nurtured Elsa the Lioness, who later captured hearts in the book and film, Born Free.
In this area, we’ll also encounter the Samburu people, a pastoral community closely related to the Maasai, who have called this land home for generations. As always during our safaris, you can choose to be as active as you desire or simply unwind at your safari lodge.
On our second night in the park, you’ll have the option to select your preferred accommodation.
Tsavo West to Amboseli: 100 km, Approximately 2 hours Meal plan: Breakfast, lunch, dinner We’ll rise with the sun as we embark on our adventure in a 4×4 vehicle. A new day dawns on the savannah, offering the perfect opportunity for stunning photographs in the gentle morning light. Tsavo West is full of surprises, and one of its gems is Mzima Springs, a vibrant oasis nestled within the rugged landscape. We’ll take a moment to stroll through the lush greenery of this spring, which is nourished by thousands of gallons of crystal-clear water. Here, you can spot hippos, crocodiles, fish, and a variety of bird species thriving in this unexpected haven. Elephants and zebras, thirsty from their travels, often visit this vital water source. Next, we’ll make our way to Amboseli Park, a relatively short drive that will have us arriving by late morning. Keep an eye out for the towering peak of Mt. Kilimanjaro, which looms majestically over the park. After enjoying lunch and some relaxation, we’ll set off for an afternoon safari. Amboseli is teeming with wildlife, and we should soon encounter the park’s renowned elephant herds parading against the backdrop of Kilimanjaro. Be sure to have your camera ready! At this hour, the clouds that often shroud the mountain’s snowy summit may clear, revealing one of Africa’s most breathtaking views. We’ll spend the night at your choice of safari lodge or tented camp in Amboseli.
Amboseli to Nairobi: 240 km, approximately 4 hours Meal plan: Breakfast, lunch On our last morning of safari, we’ll rise early to embark on a thrilling pre-breakfast game drive. There’s a chance we might catch a glimpse of Kilimanjaro’s majestic peak, offering one of Africa’s most breathtaking views. As we search for elephants making their way to breakfast, we’ll also savor our own meal at the lodge. The stunning natural beauty surrounding us serves as a perfect reminder of this incredible destination and the adventures we’ve shared. After breakfast, we’ll set out for one final mid-morning game drive, on the lookout for predators, grazers, and a variety of bird species before we make our way back to Nairobi. We expect to arrive around 4:30 PM. We’ll ensure you’re dropped off at your hotel, residence, or the airport. Four days, three parks, and countless memories.
