Your adventure begins with a morning pickup from your hotel or Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi. After a short briefing by your driver/guide, you’ll depart for Tsavo West National Park, located about 5-6 hours away along the Nairobi-Mombasa highway. Tsavo West is known for its rugged terrain, volcanic landscapes, and rich wildlife.
Arrival at Tsavo West National Park
You’ll arrive at Tsavo West in time for lunch at your lodge or camp, such as Kilaguni Serena Safari Lodge, Severin Safari Camp, or Ngulia Safari Lodge. After check-in and lunch, take some time to relax before heading out for your first afternoon game drive.
Afternoon Game Drive and Visit to Mzima Springs
In the afternoon, you’ll embark on a game drive through Tsavo West, which is famous for its red elephants, lions, leopards, and buffaloes. You’ll visit the iconic Mzima Springs, a series of natural springs that provide water to much of the region. Here, you can observe hippos and crocodiles from a special underwater viewing chamber.

Afternoon Game Drive in Masai Mara
The Masai Mara is one of Africa’s top wildlife destinations, famous for its Big Five (lions, leopards, elephants, buffaloes, and rhinos) and large populations of wildebeests, zebras, and giraffes. Your guide will take you through the Mara’s vast savannahs, where you’ll have excellent opportunities to spot predators like lions, cheetahs, and hyenas. If you’re visiting between July and October, you may witness the Great Migration, where millions of wildebeests and zebras cross the Mara River.
