3-Day Masai Mara Safari from Nairobi

DAY 1 NAIROBI – MASAI MARA (Approx: 265kms – 5 hrs) Meal plan: Lunch, Dinner.

At 07:30 hrs, we will pick you up from your hotel in Nairobi, your residence, or the Nairobi airport. Board your private 4 x 4 Jeep as we embark on an adventure to the renowned Masai Mara National Reserve.

The landscape will become more breathtaking as we ascend the Great Rift Valley escarpment, with stops along the way to stretch and admire the stunning views. Descending into the valley, we’ll traverse through the picturesque Masai territory, where you might catch sight of the vibrant herdsmen as we near the reserve. We anticipate arriving at the Masai Mara around lunchtime, which you will enjoy at your selected accommodation.

Prepare yourself for the vastness and incredible wildlife that the reserve has to offer. This remarkable ecosystem is celebrated for its rich diversity of animals, with both large predators and grazing creatures populating the expansive hills and savannahs of this stunning park. Your first game drive will serve as an exciting introduction to the variety and abundance of wildlife you will encounter during your three-day stay in the park.

You will spend your first of two nights in the park at your preferred safari lodge or tented camp.

DAY 2 FULL DAY – MASAI MARA Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

Get ready for an early start as we embark on a thrilling adventure to explore the park’s incredible wildlife, renowned for being the most diverse in the region. Today promises a full day of exhilarating game drives across the sun-kissed plains, dotted with iconic acacia trees. Keep your eyes peeled for Africa’s Big Five: the majestic lion, elusive leopard, mighty elephant, formidable buffalo, and the rare rhino.

The avian life here is equally impressive, and if your visit coincides with the Great Migration season (July – October), brace yourself for the awe-inspiring spectacle of the largest animal movement on Earth. The migration, primarily consisting of wildebeest and zebra, sees thousands of these animals crossing the Mara River, where hippos and crocodiles await.

The scene is filled with tension as the herds arrive in search of fresh grazing grounds while predators lie in ambush. To enhance your Masai Mara experience, consider an optional visit to a local village. Here, you’ll have the opportunity to meet the Maasai people and gain insight into their vibrant culture and way of life. For an unforgettable experience, you might also opt for an early morning hot air balloon ride over the reserve. Witness the park awaken beneath you as the sun rises, illuminating the fields and wildlife starting their day on the savannah.

It’s a breathtaking adventure—just ask your driver/guide to arrange either or both activities.

We’ll conclude our day with a second night in the park, where you can choose your preferred accommodation.

DAY 3 MASAI MARA – NAIROBI (265 kms – 5 hrs) Meal plan:

Breakfast. After enjoying a relaxed breakfast at your lodge or camp, your friendly driver guide will help you with the checkout and then set off towards Nairobi, the vibrant capital of Kenya.

We expect to reach Nairobi by late afternoon, where we will drop you off at your hotel, residence, or the airport. If you wish, you can also extend your journey to the beautiful Kenya coast in Mombasa or the enchanting island of Zanzibar.
